What We Do

We are a distribution business. We help investors find, compare and invest in financial products, and we stay with them afterwards — through KYC, switches, redemptions, nominations, tax statements and the paperwork that follows every investment decision.

Our platform brings Mutual Funds,, Portfolio Management Services, Alternative Investment Funds, Bonds, Market Linked Debentures, Specialized Investment Funds (SIF) into a single portfolio view, alongside tools for planning and tracking. Investors can also borrow against their Mutual Fund holdings rather than redeem them through LAMF (Loan Against Mutual Funds) product.

We do not charge our clients a fee for any of the Investment Product. In Mutual Funds, we deal in Regular Plans only and earn a trail commission from the Asset Management Company, which is disclosed to every client at the time of investment. We act as a MFD (Mutual Fund Distributor).

We Start With the Goal, Not the Product

We Explain the Risk Before the Return

Every product we distribute carries risk, and each one carries a different kind. We would rather a client understands what can go wrong before they invest than find out afterwards.

We Are Transparent About How We Are Paid

We deal in Regular Plans and earn a trail commission from the fund house. Every client is told this at the time of investment. There is no fee charged to you at any stage.

Technology With a Human Team

Invest through the Dhantarang app or the website whenever it suits you. When something needs a person — a stuck redemption, a nomination update, a decision you want to talk through — there is a Mumbai-based team on the phone.

Meet the Founders

DhanTarang was founded by two professionals with more than fifty years of combined professional experience across financial services, lending, insurance, broking & other industry.

Omprakash Luthra — Co-Founder and Director

Omprakash Luthra is an engineering graduate from Mumbai University with over 30 years of experience across operations, technical support, customer care and financial investment products.

He was closely involved in taking a company public on the BSE platform, which gave him direct insight into corporate funding and the statutory requirements that come with it. He has served as Director of a manufacturing company supplying an international FMCG brand, and has managed national distributor and dealer networks.

He has been with Mutual Funds for many years, and for the past five years has handled Mutual Fund investments for individual clients directly. He is a CFP (Certified Financial Planner) Level 3 Professional & SIF (Specialized Investment Fund) Certified Professional.

Ashwani Tyagi — Co-Founder and Director

Ashwani Tyagi is a Management professional with a professional career spanning more than 28 years, with expertise in Business Development, Human Resources and Relationship Management across Mortgage Lending, Insurance and Retail Broking in Financial Sector

He has held many senior level postions in companies like Anand Rathi Global Finance, Shriram Housing Finance, Axis Securities, Manappuram Home Finance & Max New York Life etc.

He is an Engineer and holds a PGDM from Mumbai. He is also the PMS distribution certified Professional. Outside work he is a committed marathoner and has completed multiple half marathons.
